Laban/Bartenieff Movement System modular training

I’m a registered somatic movement educator and teach on ISMETA-approved training programmes: with the WholeMovement Laban/Bartenieff Movement System in Italy, and contribute to EMove Institute‘s programme in the Netherlands. This involves teaching practice and theory, assessing, supervising and contributing to curriculum development.
What is the Laban/Bartenieff Movement System?
LBMS is a system of movement analysis and observation. It is also a somatic practice.
Past event: 22 October, 6.15-8pm: ‘The Body and Moving Image’ film screening and Q+A.
The selected films centre on the presence and agency of the body in moving image. As corporeal critique, the significance for film makers and film lovers is on how moving image can explicitly work from the body to refuse a body/mind split in conveying complex topics and identities. Gitta Wigro and I warmly invite you to this compilation of films, presented for their sensuous and critical poetics, interconnected by claiming/reclaiming. Films from Jacob Lee, Wency Lam, Robbie Synge & Julie Cleves, Tuixén Benet, and Naomi Midgelow.
28 October: performing ‘score’ part 2 of a three-part duet with poet Mary Paterson at The Ivy House Nunhead, London.

Performing for Heni Hale
In 2025 I was part of a research and performance project with Heni Hale for her practice-based PhD. Here is a clip of our work that was presented at the Wellcome Trust in November.
Maya, Alex and I had a great time hosting our third summer retreat in 2025 for musicians of all kinds at OT301, Amsterdam. Thank you to everyone who joined us! And who we met last summer at the Dalcroze Symposium and the European String Teachers Association. This autumn, musicians and movers are invited to join Moving Strings/Play As We Are for company class.
I was invited by Anna Leon to contribute to the Theory Paper for TanzquatierWien, 2025.
